Computer applications programs are designed to familiarize the home and casual professional user with common applications that are needed to perform simple functions such as creating word documents, using browsers to go online, checking email, listening to music, and uploading pictures. While much of this knowledge can naturally translate into usefulness in the office and at school, the fundamental goal of computer applications programs is simpler.
With this goal in mind, some computer applications programs can be taken to learn how to operate specific applications. You might, for example, take a program that teaches you how to use functions and create spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel. If you want to quickly gain experience for a particular job, these are good choices that you can tailor to your needs. Other programs, though they work with a few select applications, have a larger-minded goal.
